That's right... go throw a hissy fit!

This is a strip I drew for a friend as a farewell present. I had to censor out some bits because those lines have to do with certain private jokes that probably will not make sense anyway. I wasn't planning on putting it up but the weird rodent/ tasmanian devil creature is just too adorable to be locked up. So here is the PG-13 version.
Don't you simply love the term "hissy fit"? There's so much you can do with it. I really do love the people in my life who I can pick on and who pick on me and drive me to draw cartoons of them looking like strange creatures. I'm so glad that God keeps providing me with such friends no matter for how short a while.

ps - I don't think I could ever pull off the ridiculous outfit on the shark. Not even if you paid me or dared me. I still have a dare pending.

Don't touch me!

I have a friend who does this. It's a very unpredictable action and hence I find it funny enough to draw. I was trying to think of a character that could be the recipient of this action and after much trial and error and processes of elimination, I came up with this. Much to my reluctance.

I started off with a different version which sort of seems more like irritability. I wasn't too happy about it but it seemed probable.

This is a policy that most people believe that I am in agreement with, by the way.  It's quite funny. I do find that, in excess, it can be a bit annoying.

ps - uh oh, I just realised that I have a "Don't touch me!" badge on the journal blog which I'd made months ago. So this is not really new then! But the squirrel is new. That makes it better, I suppose.

We'd certainly have more peace

For some reason I like scenes of people lying on grass or in big meadows. And I like shots taken from behind them and was hoping I could pull off that angle. I couldn't.
I'm not satisfied with the first sketch and I thought I'd just use the whole script on the second one but it seemed to lose something.
Also, I'm fully aware that the two have exchanged places but again, when I tried switching them, it seemed to lose something. So we'll just go with this weird meadow where mirror images aren't that different or that big a deal.
There are indeed times when such emo thoughts pass through my head. I thank God that they're just passing through. I mentioned one of such thoughts to a friend and she wanted to start a T-shirt campaign with what she thought was a clever slogan to end all the World's problems.

Just for the dental record

I have one of those shark tooth pendants. It's not the same as having a tiger claw or wolf tooth because sharks shed their teeth and grow new ones all the times just so that we could mass produce pendants and other ornaments.
I hope the other one looks human tooth-like enough.
And yes, I know this is lame and random.

Well, if you insist...

I would have added the little stick with all its possessions wrapped up in a handkerchief but the shark isn't actually doing the leaving. It's just scooting about trying to make small talk about current issues, I suppose.

I do love those little scooters. I bought one back from the States a couple of years ago. It's hot pink and fabulous and hidden somewhere at home. Yes, I'm well aware of the fact that I wasn't a child even some years ago. I wish we were like Japan where people would ride around on little kick scooters and people wouldn't stare at you but applaud you for being so eco-friendly. I could try the eco-friendly option we have here and walk it out but unfortunately, the friendship is not such a mutual one.

ps - Just so we're clear, I do not check every five minutes to see if people are back from vacation because I miss them.

Dig that Sulking Violet!

I can get into sulking modes every now and then. It used to be a regular feature on my face while I was growing up. I'm much better now. I don't really want to admit that something this "small" can make me feel better, but there are times when it does. But forget I said that.
I'm quite proud of my fancy chair. But it wasn't fun to draw over and over so I just traced them out the next four times.

What is it with ninja poses that makes you want to strike one for no reason?

This is my tribute to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I used to be a big fan. So much that some people called me "turtle". Now, some people call me "sharky". I probably will be referred to as some animal or the other until I die. Or even after.
Anyway, my favourite turtle was/is Raphael. He's the one with the red mask. But when Eastman and Laird first created them, all the turtles wore red masks. I figured that if I drew masks on all the characters, one would assume that they were wearing orange, blue, purple or even pink for that matter (this being a b&w comic strip and all). I rather have the character with Raphael's weapon wear the mask and have people know that the mask is red. Yes, I have weird reasons for why I do the things I do or draw the things I draw.
I shall also confess at this point that I have a thing for swords. I don't like knives and sharp objects thanks to "Final destination" movies, but I love swords thanks to He-man, She-Ra and Lion-O (why do they all have hyphenated names?).
A friend of mine said that the "mouse looks like he is forced to go on this mission and the cat couldn't care less". That describes those characters and the people they're based on perfectly.

ps - This is now my new wallpaper. I actually love it. I can't believe I drew it.
