EarPods, Eye-pods and Copepods

For those of you who don't know, the Greenland Shark (Somniosus microcephalus) have these little parasitic copepods (Ommatokoita elongata) attached to the corneas of their eyes. They don't help with the vision, but luckily sharks have other senses to help them stay on top of things.

It's been a while since I did a comic panel and this has been in the pipeline for a while and I didn't want to wait any longer.

Sharktivity #25: Pray

I’ve been finding it a bit hard to draw something fun or lighthearted in the midst of all that the world is going through. The injustices all around us are growing and it is heartbreaking. From #blacklivesmatter in America to the migrant worker deaths in India to rise of fascist forces everywhere and a virus to top things off, things seem bleak. So I thought this is as good a time as any, in addition to speaking up and fighting for justice, to pray.
This has also been a sharktivity during these awful times because when we feel helpless and unsure of the future, it’s the most basic thing we can do. We humans cause all kinds of terrible consequences thanks to our selfish ways and then blame God for all that happens (whether we believe in Him or not!). Well, thankfully, we feel a little hope, a little less lonely and a little grateful for what we have when we pray.
Let's pray that the world gets a little better with every struggle.

Sharktivity #24: Atlantic Weasel Shark finds its View-Master 3D (Couch series #2)

I have now enough sharktivities to fill calendars for the next two years (provided we all survive until then)! Now, how many of you have seen a View-Master? Millennials and later gens please don't answer. I've been showing my little nephew my old View-Master and he finds it as fascinating as his iPad so that gives me some hope. My parents got me several "knowledge building" reels and a couple of cartoon ones. Guess which ones are the most worn out?
The Atlantic Weasel shark (Paragaleus pectoralis) is one that I hardly find pictures of - I keep wanting to see photos of those amazing yellow streaks. There isn't much data on them either so they are listed as "data deficient" on the IUCN red list.
