Voting day!

Today was voting day and I did my duty. Well, thanks to the hard earned freedom to ruin our country by our own hands, our choices are sometimes restricted to a sort-of good party represented by a not-so-reliable candidate or a party with lousy values represented by a good guy. How do we handle it? well, there's indifference towards voting, settling for voting for the "lesser of two evils" or doing either of those and then smash things around when things don't go your way. Hopefully someday we'll get to the point of not tolerating a choice between useless candidates/parties, not rioting and making voting something that every citizen feels is not pointless.

Child Sexual Abusers should be eaten!

This is supposed to be Child Sexual Abuse Awareness Month. I'm a bit late!
In a country that is on fire for fighting corruption, this would be a good time to recognize that child abuse corrupts the souls, hearts and minds of our child and if this is allowed to continue, India will never be free of corruption.
I'd talked about this issue several times on my old blog. You can read it for a more in-depth/ less "censored" opinion.
I pray that this cause will be taken up and that no sex offender/ pedophile will be allowed to hurt our children ever again.

ps - The whole cuckoo-cannibal bit of the conversation actually happened. My father was telling me about how cuckoos are rude birds with terrible social manners and they do happen to taste great so you feel pretty good about eating them. So I asked him if maybe that's how cannibalism started. He found that amusing and maybe even plausible.

I found this dialogue scribbled in my notebook - I have no idea what I was thinking at the time I wrote it and couldn't remember what the context was or who the characters were. But I thought it was quite funny so I tried to recreate the idea the best I could. Robert had to be a human and had to be a boy. I don't know who he is. Maybe I am yet to meet him. Poor Robert.

Sharks are friends not food!

My original one was sort of like the sharks one for the "Finding Nemo" posters. But it looked more like a bad educational poster than what I'd imagined. I got this image in one of my sleep-wake modes and thought it would be fun idea to do instead. The other sharks are supposed to be a Tiger shark, Hammer-head, Mako and blue shark. =D

If I'm ever that cheerful, please do smack me.

I thought it had been a while since annoyingly-happy bear had gotten smacked. And since we were on a roll with this topic, I thought meh, why not?

They should get squirrels to assemble gadgets instead.

I had to vent my anger and frustration about my not-yet-a-year-old Apple laptop crashing again and being told by the service people that it was just a software problem (which isn't under warranty, of course!).
I realised that I have to mentally prepare myself for the day when every gadget I own will collapse. It will most likely be the day after the warranty expires. I'm convinced that the whole "testing" phase of electronics is to find out how long (time=t) something works and then make sure product development people set the warranty as (t-x) days.

ps - the title could've also be used with a far more hilarious situation which only came to mind after I typed it. Squirrels assembling computers...hahaha. It's funny 'cos it's squirrels. So there.

The only title you should think of is "Mrs"!!

 

My mother actually does have this gift. And now I can almost see it coming. I'm going to be a menace to my kids. The words I used are as random as they can get - I got them from a random word generator site. Really. hehe.

I have some friends who could probably send me a dozen more wonderful examples. I hope people will! It should be fun! :D
