Tell me I am what I say I am!
The other day my mum said that I should have been born a dolphin or a whale so that I could just sort of swim about and do nothing without a care in the World. For some strange reason, there was this vague feeling of being insulted.
And last night I was called a squid. Not funny. It's as if she deliberately names every other sea creature.
I used to be addicted to those personality tests (what kind of dog are you, what colour are you) on that one site (can't even remember what it's called). I'd be happy when the result was something I liked, if not I'd take it again.
Those things never work because we usually answer with what we want to be or think we are. Also, the options are limited to whoever wrote the program. If he was a lazy squid, he wouldn't have included half of the more suitable answers.
It's also funny how we sometimes look to others for answers about ourselves when we probably already have some clue.
Let me play (with) some music
While it makes me feel old-ish, I consider myself quite lucky to have personally experienced all of the above music storage stuff. My grandpa had a record player which I loved using. Of course, all the record options I had were seemingly outdated (and now rare) such as Danny Kaye, Bill Haley, Mary Hopkin & Connie Francis. Then came the era of tapes (and mixed tapes and walkmans) which are now obsolete (thankfully CDs aren't completely extinct yet). I was reminded how much fun these different media were in their own way. Sure, mp3 players are a lot of fun because they do more than just play music and there's so much more choice, saving of space and costs but I couldn't help think that's there was some charm missing.

Teeny Tiny cup of wisdom
I once asked a waiter at Amethyst for a small mocha and gestured a tiny cup with my fingers. He brought me a cup the exact size I showed him. At first I thought he was making fun of me but I loved the tiny cup of mocha. It was hardly enough but that's what I ended up ordering the next couple of times I went there. I'm sure it's called something other than mini mocha though. There's something about miniatures, isn't there?

hWhine & Cheese
I think not showing the nice thing that was done by the shark adds to the mystery and intrigue of these comics. It's a tactic in making people want more. Obviously it works because I get so many comments that I delete all but 5 of them.
I'm a big fan of Foster's home for Imaginary friends - especially the episodes with Cheese. He cracks me up and I thought "what a perfect guest star he would make!". The day after I finished this sketch, I found this video and it was such an awesome coincidence! Water horsey!
I have no idea how or where the human disappeared off to in the last panel. Maybe she's imaginary.
